25th - 27th June 2014, University of Kent, UK
The Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE) and the British Ecological Society (BES) hosted their annual conference, this year with the theme 'Considering the future of conservation'. The symposium took place from the 25th - 27th June at the University of Kent, and brought together natural and social scientists from both academic and NGO sectors.
The aims of the meeting included reflecting on the importance of applied research to conservation, and critically evaluating how conservation must move forward. Invited speakers presented talks across four themes: threats to biodiversity; protected areas; human behaviour and conservation; and conservation in the wider landscape.
