Advocates Coalition for Development and Environment (ACODE)

Advocates Coalition for Development and Environment (ACODE) is an independent public policy research and advocacy think tank based in Kampala, Uganda. ACODE was registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in 1999. Fourteen years on, ACODE is one of the most dynamic and robust regional leaders in cutting-edge public policy research and analysis in a range of areas including governance, trade, environment, and science and technology. Through evidence-based policy research and analysis, ACODE creates knowledge to support pro-people national and regional development policies and expand the range of policy options available to confront challenging and controversial public policy problems. Through advocacy and capacity building, it empowers people to shape public policies so that they are equitable to support sustainable development. It further motivates people to demand for responsible government, accountability in leadership, justice and better governance.
