1. UNDP/UNEP Poverty and Environment Initiative (PEI): Linking Poverty Reduction And Environmental Management to Achieve the MDGs: UNDP and UNEP have formed a global partnership and merged their poverty environment programmes into one integrated programme - the UNDP/UNEP Poverty and Environment Initiative (PEI). The core focus of PEI is to support country-led efforts to integrate the environmental concerns of poor and vulnerable groups into policy and planning processes for poverty reduction and pro-poor growth.
2. The Equator Initiative is a partnership that brings together the United Nations, civil society, business, governments and communities to help build the capacity and raise the profile of grassroots efforts to reduce poverty through the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity (

The GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme on behalf of the GEF partnership of agencies, aims to deliver global environmental benefits in the focal areas of biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, protection of international waters, prevention of land degradation, and elimination of persistent organic pollutants through community-based approaches.
