The Democratic Republic of Congo-PCLG was established in 2014 and is convened by Stronger Roots.
Our work
DRC-PCLG has benefited from support provided by the Arcus Foundation to PCLG. Between 2013 - 2015, activities included exploring the interest and need for a national DRC-PCLG group including:
-
holding a scoping meeting in DRC with conservation and development practitioners; and
-
discussing specific research and communication needs that could be addressed by a DRC group of the PCLG.
DRC-PCLG has received further support from Arcus foundation to continue these efforts into 2018 and 2019. The work of DRC-PCLG relates to PCLG's broader thematic interest in great apes.
Resources
DRC-PCLG periodically publishes workshop reports, discussion papers and policy briefs. These can be viewed at PCLG Publications.
DRC-PCLG has also produced other resources including communicating strategies for great ape conservation and poverty alleviation.
