At a PCLG meeting in Uganda in November 2010, participants from a number of African countries agreed that it would be useful to establish national chapters of the PCLG network in order to enhance information sharing and collaboration amongst conservation organisations with a shared interest in addressing poverty issues.

Uganda PCLG was the first to be established in 2011 – with support from a PCLG grant provided by the Arcus Foundation – and was shortly followed by Cameroon  PCLG. 2014 saw the establishment of a DRC PCLG. We are currently exploring opportunities to work with partners in Rwanda.
