Not just minor forest products: The economic rationale for the consumption of wild food plants by subsistence farmers.

The article assess the economic value of non-marketed NTFPs in order to understand the true income of the people who gather them, and the amount of extra cash they would need if the NTFPs were not accessible. The article describes 5 methods for estimating the value of NTFPs and compares 2 of these by analysing data obtained from fieldwork carried out in two Pwo Karen villages in Thung Yai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary in Western Thailand.
